Lesson 33

With the death of Joseph Smith many thought that the church slowly die into obscurity but when the Lord leads the church that does not happen. But who should lead the church now that Joseph Smith is gone? What did the Lord establish so that His church would continue? These are some of the questions answered in this lesson. We also once again hear about the the suffering of the Saints as they begin their journey West.

Lesson 32

Today the lesson was on the martyrdom of Joseph Smith. Most of the slides are a copy of the section 132. The class saw a 14 minute video on Joseph and his contributions titled, "Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration." You can view this video with either Quicktime or Windows Media Player

Lesson 31

This lesson is on eternal marriage and the blessings that come from those that keep their covenants. The visual presentation is very short. Most of the time was spent discussing the scriptures related to this topic. As a class we read and discussed D&C 132. I also handed out the "The Family - A Proclamation to the World" which was also discussed in class.

This lesson is on temple work and how we should be anxiously engaged in this great work.

Lesson 29

This lesson also included the video "The Heart and Willing Mind." I have not shown it here because it is not closed-captioned.

Lesson 26, 27 & 28

There are no slides for any of the above lessons. Amy and I were out of town for Lesson 26 for the sealing of our daughter Suzie. Lesson 27 we were in Philadelphia for the RID convention. I want to thank Sister Patty Carmel and Brother Wilson Auman for teaching those lessons.

Lesson 28 never came about because our Branch and other Wards only met for Sacrament meeting in the small Jackson building due to the fact that there was a large singles conference in our regular building. The Jackson building didn't have enough room for our regular schedule. I decided to stay on schedule so lesson 28 was simply dropped.
